GAT562 Device Firmware Update via USB / OTA

GAT562 is the Meshtastic device that use nRF52840 as the main controller. It supports DFU(Device Firmware Upgrade) with 2 Options, USB Connection by Drag and Drop UF2 File, Bluetooth Connection by OTA.

Via USB Drag and Drop

1. Open https://flasher.meshtastic.org
2. Choose RAK WisBlock 4631
3. Click Flash and download UF2 file.
4. Quickly double-press the hidden reset button inside the small hole on the right side of the USB Type-C port using a pin or paperclip. The device will enter bootloader mode and appear on your computer as a removable disk.
5. Drag the downloaded uf2 file to the new USB Mass Storage device.
6. The GAT562 will reboot and upgrade to new firmware.

Via Bluetooth Wireless OTA

1. Install MTools BLE App.
2. Select RAK WisBlock 4631 and connect to GAT562.
3. Click start to do OTA process.
4. Wait for the uploading and reboot.

You can also download the firmware from Github and upload the firmware with nRF DFU App, but it will much complex when MTools BLE App has the features of one click to download the specific firmware.
